RiotintheSky

You ruptured the moon and let it fall to your feet
buried it with dreams; you lost in your sleep
who are the stars to follow?
you left a riot in the sky, chaos in the devils smile
you slept through the war and whispered yourself a lullaby
but that glass window won’t hide your face
and closed eyes only stay shut till sunrise

So wash your hands and face with morning rain
convince yourself its all a show
what a scene your mistakes have written
too bad we all fell victim
to a clever disguise

Sing softly as the orchestra begins to play
but soon you’ll learn
that lullabies sound sweeter sung by someone else
and the nights much sweeter,

When the sky’s not missing
